Garnet red with a cherry-red hue. Lifted aromatics of dried roses, violets, cherry, and cigar box. The palate is full of dark fruits including mulberry, blackcurrant & morello cherry, and savoury notes of olive tapenade and bay leaf. Dusty oak and fine tannin frame the wine and draw it though to a long, choc liquorice finish.

"Reflective of the warm year. Abundant ripe red fruits, soft and juicy and the oak is much more in the background. Pencil shavings, graphite line. Bayleaf. Black fruits -blackcurrant and black plum. A damp earth note too. Bay leaf and slate. Warming spices at the fringe. Palate is dark choc frame, inky berries, nutmeg and black velvet. This is a bit sexy. Black olive crushed, more sundried tomato, brine. A hint of nori, mid-weight, a little warm on the palate – but great value under $40. Not too heavy and weighed down. Acid is tucked in, keeps it fresh. A nice, mid-weight, mid-level, mid-price cab sav. Comfort wine. Drink now to 2030." 90 points.
