Heath Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

$35.00

Garnet red with a cherry-red hue. Lifted aromatics of dried roses, violets, cherry, and cigar box. The palate is full of dark fruits including mulberry, blackcurrant & morello cherry, and savoury notes of olive tapenade and bay leaf. Dusty oak and fine tannin frame the wine and draw it though to a long, choc liquorice finish.

Halliday Wine Companion - 94 points

"with 5/6% merlot/petit verdot. A mix of clones (Houghton and 337), up to 18 days on skins, fermented in tank, matured in French oak for 18 months (15% new). Tasted next to the Honeycomb Corner cabernet ($22), and this is immediately plusher, softer and more dense, with better concentration and more harmonious interplay between tannin and fruit. The cassis and blackberry are cushioned by bay and saltbush, the saline acidity bringing everything together. Very smart, very good value. Will age."  Erin Larkin, June 2022.
